Name

Displays the app file name.

Version

Displays the version number of the app that you are working in. If the whole digit is zero, you are working in an unpublished app.

Title

Shows in the title bar of the browser when an app user is accessing the app.

App is Opened

This event occurs when an app instance is opened. If you want this event to trigger one or more behavior commands, click on it and the Behaviors view will be loaded.

App Submits Data

This event occurs when an app successfully runs a Submit Data behavior command or an app user clicks the Submit button. If you want this event to trigger one or more behavior commands, click on it and the Behaviors view will be loaded.

App is Closed

This event occurs when an app user exits the app. If you want this event to trigger one or more behavior commands, click on it and the Behaviors view will be loaded.

App Receives External Call

This event occurs if the app is running a Get External Callback Parameter function. The External Callback feature can be used to pass data from the website to an embedded app from that website.  

This event is not supported in Mobile Design.

App Submitted Successfully

This event occurs once a successful submission has occurred. This event is restricted for use only with the Insert, Update and Delete Connect commands.

Instance Name

Text or Number

Enter a static text or numeric value as the instance name. If the names of new app instances do not need to be dynamic (based on app input or other options) then the value should be placed here.

Value of a Field

Name new app instances by taking the value of a single field or a combination of fields. Click Select and choose the field in the dialog. This option is the most commonly used choice.

Special

Use special values including app meta data to generate the app instance name. A complete list of special values and their purposes is coming soon.

Formula

Click Compose to provide a condition or formula as the value and to use that as the instance name. Formulas can use field values, dates, button states or other special values.

Screen

Center: Vertically

Turns off or on the automatic vertical centering of the app in the browser window.

Center: Horizontally

Turns off or on the automatic horizontal centering of the app in the browser window.

Color

Enter a Hex color code or click on the color box to select a color for the app background area (around the margins of the app in the browser window).

Drop-shadow

Turns off or on the drop-shadow effect at the edges of the app.

Frame

Show a Frame

Turns off or on the default frame that adds additional space to the app margins.

Width

This option lets you set the width of the frame. The option is only available if the Show a Frame check box has been selected.

Color

This option lets you enter a Hex color code or click on the color box to select the color for the frame. The option is only available if the Show a Frame check box has been selected.

Round Corners

This option lets you turn off or on the rounded corner effect that is the default setting for app frames. The option is only available if the Show a Frame check box has been selected.

Grid

Width

Enter the width in pixels of the layout grid which can be turned on from the View menu.

Height

Enter the width in pixels of the layout grid which can be turned on from the View menu.

Page Turning

Auto-scroll to Top of Page

This option turns off or on automatic scrolling to the top of the app page when an app user is accessing an app that is longer than the browser window.

Locking

Time Out

Allows you to enter a time out interval for the app. This property sets the time that an app instance will remain open before a warning message is shown. The time out interval will be reset every time the app user saves the app. Additionally, by clicking Yes on the Time Out dialog that is presented, the user can reset the time out interval.
 

It is a fixed time irrespective of any activity on the app. An app user could be typing in the app and the message will still pop up at the end of the specified time period.

Once the warning message is shown, the app user still has three minutes in which to click OK to keep the instance open for another time period of the same length. If the app user clicks Close on the warning screen or if the three minute period elapses then the app instance closes without data being submitted.

Display Name of Locking User

Turns off or on the property that allows the app user to view the name of the user currently working in the app providing that user is authenticated in the system.

Turns off or on the property that shows a warning message when closing the browser.

Localization

RTL (Right to Left)

Allows you to design apps or reports in Hebrew, Arabic or other right-to-left scripts by orienting the text of an object to read from the right side to the left.

Corner Radius

Select a numeric value to represent the curvature of the button corners. The higher the number, the more curved the edges of the button will be.

State

Select the state of the app. Choose from Normal, Read-only or Disabled.

Click the Overview ellipsis button to load the Edit State stage/role matrix. This allows you to control the state the app is loaded in, depending on the workflow stage and/or app user's role.

With field state management, you can assign various levels of user access to the app. You can prevent individual roles from changing, or even viewing, specific data or areas on the app. See Limiting User Access to App Fields for more information on how to control access to fields.

Start Page

Select the page that the app should display first.
