PerfectApps™ Help Guide

A basic two-server system puts the PerfectApps application on one server and the database on a separate server. There are two common reasons for this configuration:

Load is such that it is best divided between more than one server.

An Internet-facing (public) system needs the PerfectApps system to run on one or more Web servers in the DMZ but, for security reasons, the database server needs to sit separately behind the firewall.

In a Two-Server system, when the database is installed on a different machine than the PerfectApps application, Microsoft SQL Server Client Components also needs to be installed on the application server.

Microsoft SQL Server 2014 to SQL Server 2019 may be used. Compact and Express editions are not supported.

The two-server system offers better security options in addition to improved performance. A typical setup for a new PerfectApps system is:

Web server - Xeon Dual Core with 2GB RAM

Database server - Xeon Dual Core with 4GB RAM
