Details
The Connect command can be used to trigger a background look-up into a third party data source. Data sources can include databases, directory services, Web Services, other PerfectApps apps, CSV files and, with an extra cost, Google spreadsheets.

Filters can be utilized to return specific records of data or multiple records of data can be returned to populate drop-down or table objects. |

In order to use the Connect and Connect and Search commands with databases, text files and LDAP (Active Directory) connections, you must first install and configure the Connection Agent. |

Populating Drop-Down & List Objects (5 min) |
An alternative to the Connect & Search option is to populate drop-down or list objects with data from the data source in run-time and then allow the app user to select from that up to date list. |
