File Attachment Properties

The Attributes section includes the object name, justification and default text.

Name	Enter a name for the object. This is the name of the object as it will show in field chooser, the Navigation panel and other object lists.
Text	Enter a default value for the object (optional).

We strongly recommend that each input object is given a suitable and unique name that reflects the data that will be held within it. The object name will, very likely, be referred to when adding behavior and workflow logic as well as when designing reports.

The Behavior section lists possible events on the object that can prompt a behavior to run.

File Attachment Changes Field Data

This event occurs when an app user attaches a file.

File Attachment is Clicked

This event occurs when an app user clicks on the file attachment object.

File Attachment is Shown

This event occurs when the file attachment object is shown.

The Settings section includes size, file types, button settings, mandatory answer, position, tabbing, tool-tip and accessibility.

File Attachment Settings
Object	Details	Additional Information
Max Size	Enter the maximum file size (MB) allowed for this attachment object.
[Drop-Down]	Select which type of file may be attached. •Default •Text Documents •Images	Default means all text and image file types listed below along with file types AVI, EML, HTM, HTML, LOG, MOV, MP2, MPEG, MSG, PPT, PPTX, PSD, PUB, VSD, XML, and the PF (PerfectApps File) extension. Text Documents are restricted to the following extensions: DOC, DOCX, XLS, XLSX, XLSM, CSV, TXT & PDF. Image files are restricted to the following extensions: JPG, JPEG, GIF, PNG.
Button Details
Attach	Edit the caption text that is shown before the app user has attached a file.
Detach	Edit the caption text that is shown after the app user has attached a file.
Position button on left	This option will be pre-selected to align the attachment button to the left of the status detail. If this check box is cleared then the attachment button will be positioned to the right of the status detail.
Autofill	The autofill feature permits compliance with WCAG 2.1	The default value of 'On' will allow the field to auto-populate with frequently used data recorded in the app users browser.
Mandatory
Mandatory Answer	Select the Mandatory Answer check box to make the contents of the object required in order to submit the app instance. You may enter a custom message in the text input below the check box. This message will be displayed if some part of the object has not been completed prior to app submission. Click the ellipses button to display the Edit Mandatory dialog. Use this matrix to make the object mandatory based on conditions of roles and stages. Position
Top	Displays the object's location in from the top of the app (in pixels).
Left	Displays the object's location in from the left margin of the app (in pixels).
Width	Shows the width of the object.
Height	Shows the height of the object.
Layer	Indicates the layer number this object occupies. You can drag an object so that it fully or partially covers another object. Depending on the layer number it occupies, it may be positioned underneath another other object.
Tabbing
Tab Index	Indicates the order that objects will be presented in the system to designers when, for example, selecting a field in behaviors	Tab Index
Tab Stop	Clear this check box to exclude the object from the tab order altogether.
Tooltip	Enter tooltip text to show to an app user when they hover their mouse over the object.
Accessibility
Description	Enter text that will be read aloud or converted to Braille for JAWS users.	Accessibility and JAWS Compatibility

The Style section contains properties that control the font appearance and theme applied to the object.

Text
Object	Details	Additional Information
	Select the font face for the text.	Fonts from the designers local machine will also be available provided the option to Use Custom Font has been selected in the Account Settings, however if the same font is not installed on the users machine then a standard font will be used to display the data.
	Choose the size of the font for the text.
	Enter a Hex color code or click on the color box to pick a color for the text.
	Choose the style of the font for the text.
Button
	Select the font face for the button.
	Choose the size of the font for the button text.
	Enter a Hex color code or click on the color box to pick a color for the text.
	Choose the style of the font for the text.
Button Background
	Enter a Hex color code or click on the color box to pick a background color for the button. There are two color pickers available for this, enabling you to add duo-tone color gradation. The first controls the color for the top half of the button and the second controls the color for the bottom half of the button. For either color picker, you may enter a Hex color code or click on the color box to select the desired color.
Use App Theme
	Resets the appearance options to the default settings configured on the app's Theme properties.	Applying or Resetting a Theme

The Access section contains properties for field state management.

State
Object	Details	Additional Information
	Choose from Default, Normal, Read-Only, Disabled or Hidden for File Attachment objects. With field state management, you control access to individual objects on the app. You can prevent individual roles from changing, or even viewing, specific data or areas on the app. See Limiting User Access to App Fields for more information on how to control access to fields. 	Click the ellipses button to display the Edit State dialog. Use this option to hide, show or disable objects depending on the user's role and/or the workflow stage.
